EyeDetect + Polygraph = 99% Outcome Confidence

Lie detection can be faster, more accurate, and even more profitable.

If you’re a polygraph examiner looking for new ways to serve clients that require screening large groups of candidates or employees, very quickly, then we have exciting news for you. EyeDetect is a viable tool to assist because one test administrator can conduct a test every 35 minutes.

And, when EyeDetect is used in combination with polygraph in a successive hurdles approach, a combined outcome confidence as high as 99% is possible. In short, you can conduct more tests in less time and have a high level of confidence in the results.

EyeDetect

  • First lie detector based on observing eye behavior.
  • Can be combined with polygraph.
  • Test many more people in less time.
  • Great way to screen large groups.

The same scientists that invented the computerized polygraph also developed EyeDetect. They started conducting EyeDetect research in 2002.

Let’s see how EyeDetect can be used with polygraph.

Dr. John Kircher, chief scientist, discusses EyeDetect on Discovery Science Channel’s “Through the Wormhole” with Morgan Freeman.

Real Situation—Time is Money

(Note: This example applies to countries that do not prohibit the use of lie detection within private companies.)

When a crime is committed in an organization, those over security or human resources must investigate.

Example based on actual events:

A manufacturing company outside the U.S. suffered a $100,000 theft of merchandise from the warehouse. Based on the intimate knowledge the thief had of the company’s premises and procedures, the owner suspected it was an inside job.

In this case, you could use EyeDetect or polygraph, or both. Let’s take a look at two scenarios in terms of the time requirement.

Scenario 1: Polygraph Only

The polygraph examiner tests everyone with access to the area where the merchandise was stolen. In this case, there were 15 employees. These event-specific polygraphs would take 7.5 days to conduct with the examiner conducting 2 tests a day.

Time: 7.5. days. The perpetrator would be found with 80-90% certainty.

Scenario 2: EyeDetect + Polygraph

In this case, EyeDetect was used to test 15 people. The tests took less than 1.5 days with one examiner conducting 10-12 tests a day.

Using EyeDetect to screen 15 employees, there were 3 showing deception for “stealing from your employer.” Then these 3 were polygraphed over the course of 1.5 days.

Time: 3 days. The perpetrator was discovered with 97% confidence in the test outcome and two others were caught in unrelated thefts.

Summary of these two scenarios:

Contact

1 + 5 =

Method: Polygraph only

  • Time: 7.5 days
  • Accuracy: 85% to 90%

Method EyeDetect + Polygraph

  • Time: 3 days
  • Outcome confidence: 97%

EyeDetect is faster than polygraph.

  • EyeDetect tests take about 30 minutes.
  • Test results are available in 5 minutes.
  • Training takes just 4 hours.
  • And, EyeDetect is 86% accurate.
